ÝÝÝ Bogart and Bacall moved here after getting married. It was a completely furnished "moderm house" that was built on three levels and had a patio with a wonderful view and an awning - shaped deck that overlooked West Hollywood. 2707 BENEDICT CANYON ROAD - BEVERLY HILLS
"HEDGEROW FARM"
ÝÝÝ This ranch - style house was owned by Hedy LaMarr and John Loder. They called it "Hedgerow Farm". It was up a long driveway near the top of the canyon and hidden from public view. The Bogart's rented it from LaMarr and moved into the single level home with eight rooms in April 1946.

ÝÝÝ Bogey's den was decorated with plaid wallpaper and pictures of Bacall. The house was remote and isolated. It was furnished with a frigidare, stove, washing machine and other items not available due to the war. Bacall got rid of most of the furniture, which had been early American style and redecorated. One of her first purchases was a 7 x 6 1/2 size bed which was custom built. The living room was paneled in walnut and had a fireplace that was surrounded by a carved English mantel place.
ÝÝÝ The backyard stretched out to a garden, swimming pool and spreading shade trees and was enclosed by a picket fence. There were fourteen chickens and eight ducks.

The white brick structure was almost hidden from the street by heavy foliage, looking much like a forest glade. Behind the main house, which had a four car garage was the swimming pool, patio and tennis court.
ÝÝÝ In the children's area was a slide, jungle gym, ect. The lawns were well cared for and the back lawn sloped down to the pool.
ÝÝÝ The living room was the size of a tennis court. Their bedroom suite was on the second floor. It had a bedroom and dressing room, all decorated in Bacall's favorite shade of blue. The curtains were white with blue fringe, the bed sheets were blue silk with blue pillows and comforters. Their initial's "B & B" were on all of their towels in both of theirs and the guest's bathrooms. On January 14, 1957 at 2.10 A.M. Bogart died in his bedroom. Bacall sold the house in 1958.
